Basic Notes Concerning Pest Control PA

By Charles Patterson

The regulation or management of destructive animals and weeds is commonly known as pest control. These destructive weeds and animals are viewed to be very detrimental to the economy, human health as well as the entire ecology. A trained person who normally performs pest control PA is usually referred to as exterminator.

This process of regulation and management is an old one as there has been existence of the need to get rid of unwanted animals and weeds from crops. This is majorly aimed at maximization of yields as it protects the food crops from competition from these kind of pests. There was a conventional approach which was actually one of the first methods applied in regulating all the unwelcome pests.

This method was also aimed to kill the larger herbivores like the crows together with other bird consuming seeds. In the United Kingdom due to the issues concerning the welfare of animals, humane management for these destructive insects has been gaining popularity due to the use of animal mindset instead of destruction. It has been suggested that most of these pests have become a problem due to some of direct activities of human beings.

Some of these animals have become huge problems because of the daily activities of human. Therefore it implies that if effective control measures will work then human activities requires regulations. For example you will mostly find out that houseflies are very common in those places where food or even food waste is being disposed.

The major benefit associated with application of this method is that it has no harm on the natural environment. This method is also effective in the long run once they get introduced in the environment which tends to make them both sufficient and cost effective. The main disadvantage of this method is that a lengthy time to produce the desired results and at times it becomes an expensive method.

For instance mosquitoes can effectively be controlled through the use of Bt Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. Israelensis is basically a bacterium which is associated with infecting and at the end killing the mosquito larvae especially in the sources of local waters. There no negative results which are known which comes along with the application of this method in the remaining ecology and the water remains very safe for human consumption.

This method is associated with no negative effects in the entire ecology as the water is left safe for human drinking. The biological method focuses at regulating these destructive animals and weeds with minor effects to the physical environments and therefore it implies that the natural balance of ecology is maintained.

Another method which is effectively applied in controlling of pest is the mechanical procedure. This method uses a very simple technique of hands and some other simple devices which are used in forming a barrier just between the plants and the destructive animals. Weeds for example can be controlled effective by uprooting them by use of hands from the ground. This method is commonly referred to as tilling.
